Circus Class Descriptions
Know before you go!
- Attire: We recommend athletic clothes that are appropriate for movement. We highly recommend wearing leggings or sweat pants for aerial classes to cover the backs of your knees.
- Please arrive 10-15 minutes early for class to ensure you have time to park and put your things away before class begins.
- Private Lessons are also available in these and other circus disciplines. Please call to inquire.
- All classes will start with a 10-15 minute warmup, but please be sure to prepare for class in your own time as well.
- Open Level classes are for all skill levels, from first-time to advanced level students. Skills learned will be tailored to each student. These classes are for ages 7+.
- Youth Aerials will rotate on a weekly schedule each month to allow for learning a variety of skills. Week 1: Lyra ; Week 2: Silks; Week 3: Trapeze; Week 4: Hammock
- Youth Ground Skills class is half object manipulations (juggling, hula hoops, flower sticks, diabolo, etc) and half balance skills (rola bola, tightwire, walking globe, handstands), rotating at teacher's discretion.
- Adult Balance classes include: handstands, tight wire, walking globe, rola bola, etc.
- Stage Presence and Performance: This class is for anyone wanting to be a better performer! Learn through improv
exercises, mild clowning technique, posing, and body awareness. - Juggling and Manipulation Props: Learn your circus basics and more including: juggling balls, juggling rings, juggling clubs, cup juggling, cigar box juggling, diabolo, flower sticks, spinning plates, poi, and more!
Aerial Silks
Learn inverts, holds, splits, and drops.
Aerial Hoop/ Lyra
Learn spins, poses, splits, and fluid movement.
Solo Trapeze
Learn this classic circus aerial skill in a modern way!
Aerial Hammock
Learn to hold and invert your own weight in a beginner-friendly way. Skills can progress up to advance.
Aerial Straps
Come and build strength and body awareness on the beautiful aerial straps!
Flying Pole
Learn to control your muscles and make beautiful shapes as you literally fly through the air!
Hula Hoops
Learn multiple styles of hooping including flow, dance, and multi-hoop circus hooping!
Juggling & Manipulations
Learn to juggle or use other circus props such as diabolo, flower sticks, spinning plates, and more!
Strength and Stretch
Flexibility and conditioning for circus. Beginner-friendly!
Balance
Learn multiple ways to balance your body, including: handstands, tight wire, walking globe, and rola bola.
Kid's Circus
Learn all general circus skills in classes geared specifically to children. Check ages listed on the schedule for appropriate classes.
Juggle Jam
Learn with others! This class is not instructed, just a time to come train together and hang out!
Stage Presence & Performance
Own the stage with proper blocking, posing, and performance techniques.
Open Gym
Learn at your own pace! Uninstructed personal study. Rent an aerial point or open space. Open gym times available throughout the day; by appointment only.
Come & Try
Not sure what class you want to try? Come and "specialty shop"! You can give all the skills a try in order to know what full classes you may wish to take. Instructed.
